Avant-pop group ooi double in talent in latest wonder ‘Twins’
Teaming up with renowned French indie label Kitsuné for the release, ‘Twins’ is the latest single from bewitching trio ooi.
ooi told us, “The demo of ‘Twins’ sat around for quite a while in our “potential songs” folder until it was repotted and given the warmth, water and love it needed to finally grow into a flower that now plays guitar solos all day.”
‘Twins’ is twice the fun, and coated in lo-fi elements. Telling the story about moving on, the playful track strings together a plan for the next chapter of life.
While the main protagonist narrates a relationship gone bad, the vibrant instrumentation illuminates things will be piece themselves together again.
Lead singer Nicolai Zettl also added, “To me this song is about the moment of acceptance, the moment you realize that whatever happened cannot be changed and that, frankly, it’s OK, life goes on.”
‘Twins’ features a tight rhythm section with a sharp impact, soaring vocals, lo-fi indie guitars and modulated keys.
