Birmingham indie outfit Quentin Francis release powerful debut single ‘Molly’

It’s Friday. The pubs are open again. The sun’s out (well, it is in the West Midlands) and Quentin Francis have released their debut single – what more could we want?

Out today, “Molly” is the powerful debut single from this new Birmingham outfit. Tinged with indie-pop meets rock elements, it feels like summer’s come early in this track.

Inspired by the likes of Sports Team, Modern Baseball and the Strokes, “Molly” is coated with an ear-worm chorus, playful melodies and a positive rhythm.

Guitarist of the outfit Ross Carley states, “Molly is a song about an entirely made up character who is going through a break up and has gone off to Paris to live out her dreams of becoming an actress and it’s written from the friends perspective who’s there to just help her in anyway they can!

It initially started out as an acoustic-rock driven track but as we played it more and especially once we took it into the studio it naturally evolved into something more electric and upbeat. We’ve always wanted to have fun with this band so it seems fitting that this song feels as fun as it does”.

Out now on all major platforms, this track would fit perfectly on the silver screen, especially in a coming-of-age film.
