Hard hitting with layers of attitude in it’s jacket, Sleemo are about to drop a new EP with the infectious “Bugs” on
Alternative rock mixed with post-punk outfit Sleemo are a trio based in Norwich. Disguised in delay and distortion, they’ve got the props to create a hard-hitting EP packed out with adrenaline. Doing exactly that, they return tomorrow with ‘Mutation Of’, an explosive EP designed to be played loud.
Featuring the highest cool factor you could possibly imagine, ‘Bugs’ is a track off the release and it’s armed with even post-hardcore in the mix.
On the EP, Sleemo mentioned this… “Mutation Of’ is an exploration into a much darker sound from our previous releases, with more focus on introspective themes throughout the EP. We took more influences from bands such as Electric Wizard and Slint whilst still staying true to our roots.
We wanted to be able to capture the energy and power of our live shows with more improvisation on the vocals and experiments with the instruments. We also added a ‘Shepard’s tone’ between the songs to help link the themes we explore on the EP.”
Grabbing your whole attention and never letting it go, Sleemo have created an absolute monster and it’s ready to break out of its cage. A monster being a metaphor for something amazing, of course! Bugs is contagious and needs your love. A stadium ready release that shows that trio’s can have bigger sounds like any quartet. While you’re listening to Bugs, make sure to check out the full EP tomorrow, it’ll blow your mind.
