Bristol’s favourite indie collective Some Bodies return with a live EP coinciding with live single ‘Pushing Daisies’
Some Bodies return with downtempo, melancholic gem ‘Pushing Daisies’, a live vintage video. Armed with retro inspired visuals, the nostalgic video features the band performing the track live, with wacky props to go with the flow, and to keep it all ‘Some Bodies’.
On the release, the outfit stated, “Pushing Daisies appears to have come full circle. It seemed at the time we were writing we’d reached critical mass on ways the world was going to end (how wrong we were). I was watching a lot of ‘Doomsday Preppers’ and asking if it was really worth building a bunker and living off pickles just to survive another 8 months into a nuclear holocaust. I was thinking I’d rather just go on my own terms before the missiles start landing. So the song was about that and now it seems relevant again for obvious reasons.
Happiness is a warm gun? It’s the final song of the three we recorded “at the beach”. Ben and Marie have done a marvellous job again despite Roland the drum machine fucking up all the shots we were miming in by changing tempo surreptitiously; 70’s electronics are no excuse.”
Bathed with sudden chord changes, ‘Pushing Daisies’ lingers through double meanings, and slowly builds into an unforgettable performance of timeless pop.
Their live EP drops tomorrow, including recently released versions of ‘My Name’ and ‘Silver Screen’.
