Norwegian twins The Ella Sisters dive into the realm of retro-pop in latest hit ‘Cars’
Kristiansand based twins The Ella Sisters return with the exotic indie wonder ‘Cars’. Infused with the nostalgic era of the 90s, their debut single is lifted from the duo’s forthcoming debut EP ‘Queens’ due out 28th August.
Drawing inspiration from the scenery around them, it’s no wonder their music is layered with beautiful elements. Coated with tons of energy, heart on sleeve lyrics, stunning harmonies and huge choruses, ‘Cars’ features a playful arrangement.
The Ella Sisters told us, “This song describes someone who leaves you to pursue happiness elsewhere, without thinking of the possible regrets for the loss.”
On the upcoming EP, the twins stated, “This EP is representing the feelings that made us want to start a pop band. It was written through experiences we wanted to talk about, with some subjects that we could not let go of: sisterhood, empowerment, friendship, love, underestimation, and self-worth. It was after we had written the songs, that we realized it is all about undressing any behaviour that is no good for you. It is about following your heart. And it is about real friendship. How important it is to have each others back.”
A contagious hook line to the track, ‘Cars’ features one of the catchiest melodies you’ll hear this month. With a strong independence to it’s core, the twins’ songwriting ability shines positively throughout their debut. If the EP is anything like this single, the duo are bound to be stars.
