The Famous Daxx unveils sensational sophomore single ‘Gamble’
Out everywhere tomorrow, ‘Gamble‘ is the latest unapologetic ballad from The Famous Daxx.
Telling the tale of feeling stuck and pondering the future, the psychedelic offering is inspired by the spaghetti-western soundtracks of Ennio Morricone as well as the retro sounds of artists such as St. Vincent and Arctic Monkeys.
Equipped with Daxx’s delicate vocals and transcending melodies, take the gamble and dive headfirst into this new single, you won’t be left feeling disappointed.
Speaking about the gorgeous release, The Famous Daxx shares, “Gamble encapsulates the feeling of being stuck, which I very much was at the time of writing it.
I was in a scene full of people who didn’t want to listen to a girl playing the kind of music I wanted to play, and I didn’t feel like I could move forward because so many doors were already closed to me purely because of that.
It made me want to create a community around me that appreciates female musicians and gives them a safe space to learn and grow as artists.”
Cinematic in places, this track feels like it would fit perfectly in a murder mystery soundtrack.
Imagine hearing this on an episode of Killing Eve as the tension builds – goosebumps.
“Gamble” was recorded with producer Lucas Polo in London and a session band consisting of drummer Gabi King (Declan McKenna), bassist Josefine van Jonson (Los Bitchos) and pianist Sara de Santis (Tricky), as well as Daxx and Polo on guitars and synths.
