Skin Mag share the immersive jazz-pop infusion of new single ‘Wild West’. The track is the second to be shared from their forthcoming second album and follows last year’s EP Mourning Sickness.

An independent multimedia project by four Californian multi-instrumentalists, Skin Mag have happened upon an uniquely engaging sound. ‘Wild West’ wholly epitomises this; funk-influenced basslines and brisk percussion deliver an underscore of jazz whilst the meandering guitar riffs and smooth vocal tones imbue it with a sense of liberation.

Lyrically however, it’s very much the opposite. “‘Wild West’ is a playful song about the absurdity of societal regression in the modern world,” the band share of the track. “The name ‘Wild West’ is a reference to the violent nature of the current political climate in the U.S.”

‘Wild West’ is available now.
