Skott drops ‘Talk About Me’ ahead of debut album release

'Talk About Me' is the final track that's set for release before Skott's debut album is released this June.

Debut album is incoming!

It’s no lie, we’re big fans of Skott here at Clout, back in our days as ‘Born Music’ we covered her previous work a fair amount. So now, as she releases new effort ‘Talk About Me’, you can understand our delight.

Paired with a stunning visual alongside, directed by Skott herself and videographer Paras IV. The animation is something special, as we explore the characters neurosis throughout.

‘Talk About Me’ is the final track that’s set for release before Skott’s debut album is released this June. Following tracks ‘Kodak & Codeine’ and ‘Bloodhound’ it’s equal parts hypnotic and powerful as the pop bop keeps us on our toes. With elements of folk coming into play, intertwined with her key electronic stylings that we’ve come to know and love. Sat atop are Skott’s stunning vocals that are the real driving force of the track.

Speaking on the track Skott explains that, “It’s a quirky song, about a little girl who loses her mind to narcissism while chasing her big dreams. For the video we snuck pop culture references into this outer space Hollywood-type alternate universe – it’s so far from what I’d normally do. The lyrics tell a story about a little girl who dreams about fame, and it distorts into madness, like she’s losing her mind. But we learn that in reality, she just feels invisible. I directed it together with my friend Paras IV who animated the whole thing, we had fun with it. I’ve always wanted to ride through Florida on the back of a giant beetle.”
