The exciting band look continue where they left off an excellent 2023
Their vibrant and poetic sound has made Danish-Dutch alternative rock band Subterranean Street Society into an increasingly growing and exciting force over the years, with band winning over a litany of fans and admirers over the near-decade that they have been releasing music.
Their latest single ‘Stop Trying’ serves as a rebuttal to everyone who has tried to clip our wings in life and tell us to forgo our dreams for something more realistic. The track speaks to the dreamer and overachiever in all of us, the parts of us not happy to just take our place in society when its so easy to get trapped in that loop and stuck on the hamster wheel. As a result of this narrative and the engrossing, upbeat charm of the sound, ‘Stop Trying’ has a rousing and inspirational feel throughout, evoking that willingness and hope in all of us to prove capable of defying the odds and surprising everybody.
As a child of the 90’s lead singer Louis looks back: “Growing up, I remember being asked in school by grown-ups about what the plans for my future were, what did I want to become? When the obvious answer of a 12-year-old kid was a professional football player, I was told that this was not a serious answer, that I had to think about the bigger picture.”
