The track follows the release of their excellent debut single ‘howl (for jane doe).
Emerging UK band videotapes. instantly caught our attention earlier in the year with their explosive debut single ‘howl (for jane doe), establishing themselves as a volatile outfit who’s unabashed lyricism and raw energy felt as exciting and exhilarating as anything we’ve heard recently. Now they have released their new double release forest/fire to follow up on their excellent debut.
‘forest’ is the second track on the offering, and showcases a more measured and composed facet to their sound, but not by much. The stark sense of urgency is still there in spades, as well as the frenetic riffs and poignant lyrical imagery. The track is centered around the current global political climate and the dystopia that we are headed towards, and does a great job of shining a light on these issues while continuing to carve out their killer, unique sound.
