The track is the Brighton band’s first single since their well-received 2023 EP Second Best
Aptly described as a band that who sound like they surf but don’t surf, Brighton’s (that’s by the sea, right?) Wave Chase are a band who’s charming and sunny indie rock sound has a wholesome, authentic feel to it that displays a sense of warmth and character throughout their catalogue of tracks.
The latest single from the rousing outfit is ‘At Least I Can Say That I Tried’, a track about modern romance and the weird kind of struggle that young people go for trying to seek out connections and something genuine and real among a rapidly changing landscape. The track has a real sense of drive throughout, melding crisp guitars with engrossing rhythms to elevate an already engrossing sound to soaring heights as it progresses. The band have a unique and thoughtful charm that permeates everything that they do, and ‘At Least I Can Say That I Tried’ is both relatable and rewarding as a listening experience as a result.
