Our favourite Ottawa duo embrace a nostalgic and wholly different sound on their brand new single
Having blessed us time and time again with their expansive and creative brand of psychedelic indie pop, Ottawa duo Wotts have pivoted into Beatles-esque piano balladry on their latest single ‘there’, showcasing a gorgeous side to their sound that reinforces their versatility and charm as a duo.
The track has a really cultured and easy-going flair to it throughout, from the softness of the pianos the textures that the strings add, to the engrossing charm of the vocals and heartfelt lyrics. ‘there’ is a track that highlights a side unlike anything that we’ve heard from Wotts, and the composure and grace that they’ve shown on the track provides a nice little side-step from what we’ve come to expect from them while holding onto the signature appeal that we’ve so often lauded them for.
