Alternative indie pop outfit Young Robin are well established in the Australian music scene thanks to their wide range of influences and unique, mult-faceted, genre-skipping sound.

On latest release ‘Waste My Time’, the outfit continue to showcase the blissful and always thought-provoking nature of their sound, packed full of fun little sonic moments and stylistic left turns that keep things feeling engaging and fresh throughout. There is a real maturity to the outfit’s sound that seems to be flourishing and growing with each release, and while the melodic riffs and dynamism that we’ve come to expect from Young Robin are on full display, there is an increasing pop-tinged hip-hop element that adds a richness and an extra sense of variation to the sound.

“It’s a track where we want listeners to be able to sit back and just enjoy the ride.” In typical Young Robin fashion, the song’s lyrics explores themes deeper than it’s upbeat nature suggest:

“The song is about finding that someone that makes you forget all about your worries/anxiety and because of the value they bring to your life, you don’t mind them being around, even if the both of you are wasting time.”
