‘The 1975’ opens their new album
The 1975 have released the video for their collaboration with climate activist Greta Thunberg.
The lyric video, using stock footage of nature and our harmful pollution of it, highlights the failings of our governments and the dangers of systemic and individual inaction.
The track continues the theme of them opening albums with a self-titled introduction, this time for their massive new album Notes On A Conditional Form.
Matt Healy recently explained to Apple Music “The first track always has to be us checking in. That got us into the conversation of what is the most modern statement, or who has the most modern statement, and Greta was the decision. I think it sounds like how a lot of us feel. There’s a lot of hope in it, but it’s quite a sombre piece of music.”
