The track is the latest thoroughly promising release from the duo.
Ever since we heard the huge 2020 tune ‘Onlly Breathing’, we at CLOUT have been itching to hear more from Manchester duo I Was Love, and it has been more than worth the wait.
‘It’s With Me’ sees the outfit continue to forage down their immersive, dark, electro-pop path, with glistening synths and pulsating basslines delivering an ominous yet enticing experience that manages to feel visceral and welcoming in equal measure.
“Originally written to try and encapsulate the sense of dread felt during an emotional cycle, the song seems more reflective of the situation everyone finds themselves in during the current world pandemic.” I With Love’s Samuel Jones explains.
From the contrasting vocal styles of the duo to the building distortion that adds to this feeling of brooding danger and disdain, I Was Love have already crafted a thoroughly unique and personal sound that feels distinctly theirs, and ‘It’s With Me’ continues to establish and build upon it. Another stellar piece of work.
