Following huge levels of anticipation their full length is now here
After what feels like an age of excellent, raucous, convention-bending releases, building a palpable sense of excitement and unrest in the wake of their debut full length, Lilly last week obliged with the release of TV or Not TV.
The LP comes with a title track of the same name, a fun track that riffs on life, and for some, the lack of a life that they seem to have and how one dimensional it can be. The track moves at a brisk pace and has that eccentric bounce that all great Liily tracks seem to have. ‘TV or Not TV’ serves both as a valuable addition to Liily’s arsenal on an individual level and as part of the overarching concept of the album. Everything seems to have built to the release of this LP and the tracks that will come with it, and time will tell whether it permanently shoves the outfit onto new heights.
On the single, Liily said: “’TV or Not TV’ like a lot of the songs on the record play to the archetypal aspects of life, specifically with this song we’ve tried painting a picture of what a one dimensional human being lives like.”
