‘Control’ is an impossibly slick debut single from emerging artist and producer Common Air

The track sets the project off to a great start.

The track sets the project off to a great start.

Here is an artist with a cool story, New York’s Common Air is a lifelong musician who had a career producing TV and film, and professionally doing comedy before the pandemic. Since then, they have earned a masters in audio engineering and begun producing music for both themselves and others, leading up to the release of his debut single ‘Control’.

The track a really interesting feel to it from out, melding sounds of the 60s and 70s with more contemporary ones to create something that feels both timeless but impressively immersive and fresh. The track is the first official release from the artist, but moves with a sense of guile and composure that makes this feel scarcely believable, developing and growing throughout with a slick sense of deftness. From its effortlessly cool presentation, to thoughtful, frustrated lyrics about the sorry state of the world and its corrupt leaders, this feels like a track that has so much to say, and a really engaging and memorable way of delivering it.
