Having made the transition from visual artist to musical artist, Australian emerging talent Bel Kil has now released her debut single ‘Escaping’. The track is the first taste of the sound and style of the multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer and singer-songwriter, and the first glimpse of her upcoming debut EP My Year.

There is a really nice feel to this sound throughout, featuring a dreamy, enticing chorus and wonderfully flowing, laid-back verses. There is an aura of escapism and freedom within the sound, encapsulated by the fun guitars and tropical soundscape. Bel Kil is an artist who has been through adversity to get to where she is now, not least through an incident where a reckless driver caused a collision with her bike that left her having to  teach herself to use the right side of her body and re-learn to sing again, but ‘Escaping’ feels like a track that represents the other side of that journey. A breezy, effortlessly captivating and warm journey that feels like a hopeful look forward rather than backward.
