With an affable indie rock sound that bursts with an energetic, lively appeal, Camens have spent the last half-decade or so establishing themselves in the UK music scene. Defining tunes like ‘Handbrake’ and ‘Poltergeist’ have done a stellar job of showcasing their fun sound, and new single ‘Illustrator’ looks likely to grow into another favourite from the outfit.

“It’s about being attracted to creatives, girls who act, sing, play music, dance etc.” the band go on “I stumbled across the chorus almost by accident, then the verses took shape over a few weeks in isolation during the first lockdown. I have a big architect drawing table, with a big flip chart pad on it. Whenever I get an idea, it goes on the board. Some songs come together in five minutes; others are an amalgamation of ideas over a longer period. This was one of those”
