“We’ve been adopting the motto, carpe diem, and going after what we want to go after,” reflects Clubhouse frontman Max Reichert, adding, “if something’s not serving you, life is too short to try to make it work.”

This comes following the band taking an unexpected, year-long pause while the frontman battled with bone cancer. The future of the outfit had been up in the air during this time, but their new EP Are We Going Too Slow? has provided the return that the ardent fanbase has been clamoring for.

A standout track from Are We Going Too Slow? is the carefree and effortlessly captivating ‘Home Videos’, a breezy, ode to young love that does a seamless job of capturing the essence and naivety of such times. For a band that have undoubtedly been through the hardship that they have, this is a wonderfully jovial track that continues to prove that they haven’t lost a step.

“The whole life-is-too-short thing really smacked us in the face,” drummer Zak Blumer shares. “I feel like I finally know the answer,” he adds, while reflecting on the EP’s central query and title. “We’re going at just the right speed. We’re doing it with our brothers, and if we keep making music we like and doing it at the pace we feel is right, it’ll be just right.”
