You know the meme of the dog surrounded by a room that’s on fire, clearly in denial of the situation saying ‘Everything Is Fine’? You know the one, this track is pretty much an audio representation of that, with dalloway reaching her breaking point in a life dealing with chronic illness.
The cyclical nature of looking for help and or even just some kind of empathy in the situation is articulated perfectly throughout the track. With the maddening nature of the situation explored through a soundscape of manipulated MRI’s and a chorus that shifts from “Everything Is Fine”, to “I’m Not Fucking Fine”. The rage and discontent of the artist is captured in a powerful fashion here, with the track’s nature as a creative and catchy alternative pop bop filled with an underlying anger that feels like it could boil over at any minute. This is a stellar release that does a great job of highlighting the unique talent of the artist while venting about her situation in cathartic and engrossing fashion.
