The track is their first release in five years.
Chicago based indie rock/grunge-pop band Gardens are back with their first new track since the release of their 2017 album Maricopa. The outfit have taken the time away to re-assess the scope and parameters of their sound and re-imagining their writing process.
The end result of this is their gorgeously dreamy new single ‘Dream House’, a track that leans more into indie rock territory and sees the outfit expand their horizons sonically. Thematically, the track explores the idea of having to come to terms with the emotional abuse of a past relationship, and has some heavy moments that are softed by the nuanced and texture-laden soundscape. ‘Dream House’ is a really thoughtful return from the outfit, and one that is a statement in itself as to the changing ethos and open-mindedness of their sound and style.
