‘Sunburn’ is the fifth track on Lazygirl’s sophomore EP, Orange Roses.
Floating on a laid-back sea of syncopated drums and synths, ‘Sunburn’ is a breezy track that encapsulates the feel-good nature and inescapable euphoria of Lazygirl‘s sound.
The track effortlessly draws you in with its tranquil vibes, and utilises an impossibly groovy bass line and and crisp vocal harmonies to craft a sound that is as interesting as it is alluring. For all of ‘Sunburns’ style though, it also has a profound substance to it, with the artists poetic critiques of capitalism masked underneath this array of textures and sounds. The track culminates with a slowed down and almost hynotising half-time segment, marking ‘Sunburn’ as a track that you fall in love with over and over as it develops and grows.
