‘Kanazawa’ sees Norwegian sensation Moyka dream of more exotic climes. The track is the latest to be shared from her new EP Spaces.
Named after the Japanese city, Moyka – aka Monika Engeseth – brings a whimsical slant to her most recent outing as she muses on a love that has drifted away. Imbued with warm synths tones and a strong, pulsating beat, Moyka’s bright vocal dances across rippling electronics that beg to be danced to. Not one that would go amiss in the club, by the time the chorus hits, it’s full-throttle Robyn.
“When you’re together with someone you create all these wishes and dreams to go and see places together,” she says, “and when you break up, all those things just fall away. ‘Kanazawa’ is a symbol of all these places and dreams that fell away.”
