Nia Wyn is gearing up for world domination.

Hot off the success of her debut EP Love I Can’t Ruin, back in February, Nia Wyn has hit us with the release of new track ‘Who Asked You’.

A bold, confident track centred around dealing with negative energy from people with unwelcome opinions. Specifically honing in on the stigma around mental illness and someone doubting your aspirations of leaving a small town and its mentalities.

Speaking about the track, Nia explains that, “for me this track is about being faced with unsolicited opinions from others – whether that’s from judgemental people you knew back home who always doubted you or called you unstable and weird because you didn’t fit in with others. There’s also the message of what goes around comes around in some way and how that negative energy people build up will ultimately hold them back whether that’s now or later on.

Originally from a small seaside town in North Wales, Nia has taken influence from the likes of Billie Holiday, Bob Dylan and Marvin Gaye, all the way to Nas and Lauryn Hill. This eclectic taste in music has certainly helped her form her own unique sound with diverse elements included.
