Pastel team up with Ben Kessler on ‘Daylight’

New track, 'Daylight' is an exquisite slice of fluid, energetic neo-soul from this incredible talented multi-instrumentalist.

We love a good slow jam.

It’s his third release of the year, and he seems to be getting better and better with each one. Pastel, the French-Polynesian artist that we are sure is set for huge international success.

New track, ‘Daylight’ is an exquisite slice of fluid, energetic neo-soul from this incredible talented multi-instrumentalist. For this one, he’s teamed up with Philadelphia-based vocalist Ben Kessler and together they’ve really created something special.

Intertwining strong guitar riffs, quirky beats and a topline to die for, with Ben’s incredibly smooth vocals, the result is a silky smooth slow jam 100% worth your time.

Speaking on the track, Pastel explains, “The process of creating Daylight was actually pretty fast and the funny fact is, Ben and I made it the day we met. Ben was studying in London and we got in touch through a mutual friend in Camden, from Nashville. It started more like a jam at the beginning – I was playing a few chords, Ben came up with the solos behind and then I found the guitar lead. We actually sang the song that day and finished the instrumental later in the week by adding some more layers and some choir vocals to lift the harmonies. It really was a case of spontaneity fuelling creativity!”

‘Daylight’ is the third taste of what’s to come from his forthcoming sophomore EP Cereal set for release in June.
