Tyneside alternative rock quartet A Festival, A Parade return with new single ‘Straight To Work’
Taken off their upcoming new EP ‘Company’, Straight To Work follows ‘Big Screen TV’, which gained critical acclaim across the country. As featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and Radio X, A Festival, A Parade are no strangers to the industry. Returning with a different side to the band, ‘Straight To Work’ may have an emotive side, but it’s built up energy is ready for a stadium.
The band stated, “Straight To Work’ is a song about family, friends, and a wistful longing for the comfort of childhood. With a backdrop of pulsating electronic drums and a wash of atmospheric synth leads and fuzzy guitars, the song deals with the catharsis of revisiting the scenes of a fading youth.
Packed with a hazy, melancholic glow that combusts and ascends into a searing wall of sound, ‘Straight To Work’ takes a fond look back at what feels like the ‘golden age’ of life, and moves on, with the parting message that the future looks pretty golden, too”.
Euphoric and feeling youthful, the pulsating rhythm of ‘Straight to Work’ will pound at your heart and gain a place instantly on your playlist. Glistening with complex guitar melodies and intricately thought out songwriting, the alternative arrangement exceeds previous songs.
With the new EP just around the corner, the band also had this to say, “These songs are still as introspective and brooding as our previous efforts, but with a new, intrepid and colourful glow.Written on tour in Spring 2019 and recorded in the height of Summer, this EP sees us testing out a brighter colour palette, with the bold, shimmering production of Paul Gregory (Lanterns On The Lake)in tow.
These songs share stories of childhood, growth, and a dewy-eyed longing for the past. We hope you find this EP as nostalgic to a bygone era as we did writing it”
