You won’t be holding any grudges on the latest single from Barbarella’s Bang Bang
Best known for their energetic live sets, Barbarella’s Bang Bang return with a strong blend of their live set into their studio mix in new single ‘Grudge’. With such a diverse range of influences under their belt, there’s elements of European folk and good old fashion punk rock in their sound.
Returning with the contagious ‘Grudge’, the post-punk number is something different. Featuring fragrances of different styles making it versatile, there’s something for everyone in this single.
Rebellious and with layers of attitude, ‘Grudge’ feels like the lovechild of The Runaways and Liza Minnelli.
On the release, Barbarella’s Bang Bang told us, ‘Grudge’ is one of the shadows that I am trying to integrate into my conscience in order to get closer to my authentic self . ‘Any part we disown within us turns against us’ as Carl Jung states in his psychology work. So here I am, singing about a grudge in a hateful but also playful and childish way, giving it the body of a monster living in my guts, making me spill filth and turn me poisonous and contagious.
When you make peace with you dark hidden side, you become more human, honest, grounded and whole – because there’s no light without shadow.’
Theatrical in a way of it’s dramatised presence, ‘Grudge’ has a strong indie arrangement mixed with a subtle touch of experimental. It’s Barbara’s iconic vocals that soar with independence. A fantastic new release from a unique outfit.
