German band Bogislaw mean business in breathtaking new single ‘Ariel’

Taken from their new EP ‘Alpha’, which will be released tomorrow, ‘Ariel‘ features an innovative sound that showcases growth within the band.

Bogislaw are based in Germany, and cite Radiohead, Portishead, Massive Attack, James Blake and Aphex Twin as a few of their influences.

Recorded in Leipzig and Halle, the new EP is Bogislaw’s most impressive body of work to date.

On their new release, Bogislaw told us, “In ARIEL we do not give answers, but we do not ask questions. Rather, it is an indeterminate feeling that leaves the seeker in a state of uncertainty, following an ambivalent path to knowledge, which, however, does not reveal new insights.

In the concept of textlessness, in which the voice contributes to the overall sound primarily through its colour, as well as the flowing structure of the piece, the idea of music and abstract meaning becomes manifest.”

Residing in a refreshing sound, ‘Ariel’ is bathed in alternative rock, dream pop, lo-fi and cinematic sensibilities. Completely unique, this quartet are bound to get placement on big movie soundtracks.

Bogislaw’s new EP ‘Alpha’ is out tomorrow via label Ketzerpop.
