CATBEAR’s third single of the year ‘Who Are You?’ sees a return to their indie-pop roots
Still showcasing their signature retro 80s sound, CATBEAR unveil their third release of the year. Titled ‘Who Are You?’, the new single illustrates the intensity you get when you’re falling deeply for someone, whether that being a tale of lust or love.
Consisting of Zoe Konez and Sarah Smith, CATBEAR’s fifth single to date is a sleazy, bold number that requires your full attention.
Synth-pop with a hint of lo-fi moments, ‘Who Are You?’ hears a vivid return to their indie roots. Formerly known as indie guitar band Cat Bear Tree, CATBEAR venture into a playful atmosphere in the latest release.
Written, recorded and produced by Zoe whilst Sarah was busy working in A&E for the NHS, Zoe stated that, “This was so much fun to write. I came up with the first half of the song on a train during my commute on one of the last days before lockdown and we developed it during those first few long weeks of quarantine where making music kept us going.”
Clearly stating the overwhelming feeling that lust brings, ‘Who Are You?’ is an experience that we’ve all felt at some point.
