Duchess drops sleazy, first single ‘Breakup Sex’ from her upcoming debut EP
Bathed in electro-pop sensibilities, London based singer-songwriter Duchess’ new single ‘Breakup Sex’ is out today. Set to release a debut EP early 2021, the new single gives a taste of what’s to come for this radiant artist.
Duchess told us, “I felt like this was the perfect single to announce my debut EP, as this song best represents the artist that I am becoming. The EP will explore sexuality, dominance, vulnerability, power, and everything that makes you BAD – in the best way of course!”
Containing high levels of energy within it’s core, the lustful number is desirable and fuses a sleazy arrangement with elegance. Teamed up with co-writer and producer Patch Boshell on the release, the alt-pop production highlights Duchess’ incredible vocal tone.
On working with Patch Boshell, Duchess stated, ‘“We are such a strong team when we create together, and the process is such an enjoyable experience. We both understand what I want to deliver in my music and this track came about through us exploring different narratives.”
Representing a new era in Duchess’ sound, you could hear this track in an irresistible Netflix original. It walks into the room with confidence, and champions the importance of expression.
On the inspiration behind the track, Duchess also added, “It’s based on a previous experience of mine where the foundations of our whole relationship revolved around the sexual chemistry and nothing else. The narrative of wanting to leave someone but being sucked back into this immense sexual chemistry, is something we all have or know someone who has experienced this in life.”
