Julia Ivory bares her soul in stunningly honest debut ‘To The Bone’
Sydney based singer-songwriter Julia Ivory shares empowering new release ‘To The Bone.
Armed with heart on sleeve lyricism and telling the story which portrays a depth of understanding far beyond her early years, this is Julia’s most honest release to date.
‘To The Bone’ shares a painful chapter of Julia’s life, but states that time of her life finally draws to a close, Julia’s songwriting is unforgettable.
Speaking about the release more in-depth, Julia shares, “I wrote this song in the darkest part of my battle with an eating disorder, at the time I never thought I’d live to see the end of the song let alone long enough for the release with a music video.
I worked with director Rowena Rasmussen on the video to create a visual representation of a struggle that is indescribable. With the help from an amazing team it blossomed into vivid imagery of what it’s like to be stuck in a battle between your body and mind
Vulnerable storytelling inspired by Billie Eilish and FINNEAS meets poetic lyrics and evocative vocals reminiscent of Rex Orange County or Sascha Sloan for a track that encourages feelings as much as a thought, you can certainly hear Julia’s influences.
