‘Alyssa’ is the latest single from one of Birmingham’s favourite indie-pop outfit’s lilleburn
lilleburn’s fifth release ‘Alyssa’ is one of the positives born out of the COVID-19 UK lockdown. Written and produced as a follow up to ‘The Dark’, this 80s inspired Birmingham outfit return with heartfelt lyricism and a genuine heartfelt indie-pop soundscape.
Ross Tidmus AKA lilleburn unleashes his heart-on-sleeve side within ‘Alyssa’ and said this on the release “I wrote it during lockdown because I was missing a lot of people in my life. not being able to physically see them face to face was making me quite emotional and I was reminiscing about times we had spent together.
I wrote it as this sort of sad love song because I want it to still resonate with people after everything goes back to normal but still carries weight about what’s going on at this moment”
‘Alyssa’ is a relatable wonder if you’re missing that special someone and hits the nail straight on the head with it’s passionate aura. ‘You always said you’ve got a mouth like a gun, so will you shoot me down?’ is an intense lyric that longs for romance, and a new beginning. Hearing this side of lilleburn is personal and a vivid outlook into what future releases could sound like.
Out worldwide tomorrow, this is a track that won’t be leaving your brain anytime soon.
