Returning with his first material since 2019, critically acclaimed solo artist Mar Omin shares a new lyric video for the emotive, hypnotic new single ‘Little Bird’
As comparable to the likes of Rhodes as it is to the likes of Lapalux with organic textures, picked nylon strung guitar and layers of strings intertwining with dappled, experimental electronics, the track is a dark and warming soundscape exploring the width of Mar’s unique sound.
Despite the blend of instrumentation taking such a wide variety of styles, ‘Little Bird’ is restrained and spacious, leaving ample room for Mar’s silky lead vocal to soar.
Taken from the upcoming debut album, Extricate, the track is an exciting look at the kind of beguiling, intricate and inventive, Massive Attack-esque tracks that can be expected.
Speaking about the track, Omin shares: “‘Little Bird’ is about the interaction I experience between me and my negative self belief, personified.
How the negativity wants to keep me insecure and feeling low and feeds off that energy.
The vocals in the verses and the bridge represent me, the pre hooks and hooks are the voice of the negative me.”
