Moscow based indie-pop duo Mashmellow unleash uplifting ‘Heaven is You’
Starting your Tuesday off in the right way, Mashmellow unveil latest anthem ‘Heaven is You’. Being their second track to date, the exquisite number radiates with positivity through the current hard times. Both born in the far east of Russia, the pair met in Moscow in 2018 and well, the rest is history.
Connecting with their shared love of early 90s dream-pop, the duo decided to start writing music together. Both knowing the in’s and out’s of the industry, the second release from one of Moscow’s favourite duo glistens with guidance.
Mashmellow told us, “Heaven is You” was one of the first songs we did for the EP. It was made under a great influence by The Cure’s pop songs and some of the modern stuff by New Order.
We think that the mainline “Heaven is you, baby” is a little bit provocative but very gentle at the same time. Because if love is a gift from God then heaven is inside the one you love.
A captivating single that gives listeners a slice of what the upcoming EP will be like, Mashmellow are proving that heaven is simply a place on earth. An indie pop ballad that shines with a clear summer feeling, the vibrant single resonates with the sound of the early 90s.
Angelic and something you’d hear from the clouds above, the single will go down in the bands history.
