Spanish artist Robin and the Goblins release atmospheric new release ‘Future Angel’
Returning with the spine-tingling video release for the new single ‘Future Angel’, Robin and the Goblins aka Robin Romo create baroque-pop with synth-pop elements.
Oozing with ambience and space to breathe, “Future Angel” is futuristic and explores themes of queer shame, anxiety and alienation.
Speaking about the release, Robin and the Goblins share, “Loosely inspired by the Scandinavian tale of the mylingar, ghosts of children that roam the woods until they lure someone into burying them properly, the haunting video for Future Angel is the perfect Halloween folk tale.
Both the lyrics and the idea for the video came to me as I was realizing that the bullying and emotional neglect I went through as a kid wasn’t a logical consequence of me being “difficult” or “the odd one out”.
I wanted the video to hint at how that whole journey unfolded for me. First living in a constant flashback, forgiving the wounded child you were and then…burying them under a pile of compost! At some point you need to start living for your present self and go buy some vegetables.”
Future Angel was shot in the German forest of Grünewald by Fruitsalat films.”
Complete visionary and something that Kate Bush would love to have in her discographY!
