Bedroom pop two-piece Sleepy Soul unveil coming-of-age track ‘Self’
Bedroom pop duo Sleepy Soul are about to release their distinctive new single, ‘Self’.
Sleepy Soul’s third single of the year is musically vibrant, yet its inspiration came from a place of solitude.
Taken from the band’s forthcoming EP release, ‘Self’ reflects insecurities and loneliness while comforting listeners that things do get easier.
On the release, Sleepy Soul state, “‘Self” is about our journey through our 20s. We feel all the external pressures of how we should be living our lives versus how we actually are.
It often feels we’re falling behind while pursuing the very things that are the most important to us. This song tries to reconcile the feelings of anxiety for the future with the excitement and purpose of the present.”
Deeply original and bathed in indie-pop goodness, the lo-fi number is coated with velvet lead vocals, elegant harmonies, addictive beats and glistening synths – what more could we want?
A coming-of-age number that reflects a narrative we’re all familiar with, don’t be so hard on yourself… stick ‘Self’ on and be travelled to a world of hope.
