UK 6-piece The Barefoot Bandit return with the striking new single ‘Criminal Damage’
Having gained support across BBC Radio 6 Music and built a name for themselves as one of the most exciting bands on the UK live music scene, the new single is taken from The Barefoot Bandit’s hotly anticipated new album Hello Welcome.
Blending elements of reggae, dub and electronica the album’s lead single ‘Criminal Damage’ is a prime example of the band’s work – tight ska rhythms, infectious brass riffs, choppy piano and driving guitar lines underpinned with elegant splashes of atmospheric dub delay and subtle electronics to create an multifaceted musical backdrop.
Topped with effortlessly catchy, charismatic and biting lead vocals the band demonstrate their talents as writers in a polished hugely effective manner.
Talking about the new single, the band share: “It is about a true event where someone we know ruined an allotment patch when they were young. The song is basically expressing that mistakes are made and you (hopefully) learn from them.”
