It’s not everyday you hear a twisted version of a Disney inspired track
Enigmatic TTRRUUCES are stating they’re ones to watch and with ‘Evil Elephant’ about to be released, the proof is in the pudding. Creating a complete bonkers sound with their psychedelic image, they’ve created something different and one way to describe it all is, they’ve created a whole new universe. The conceptual album narrates the adventure of Sadie and Syd, the sad girl and the lost boy, the two fictional characters of the TTRRUUCES album.
‘Evil Elephant furthers the story of the pair as they trip on the drug. They see disturbing visions of an alternate reality which is dominated by elephants. Musically it’s inspired by old 1930s cartoons and especially the hallucinogenic ‘Pink Elephants on Parade’ scene from Dumbo.’
The track’s video, directed by Malvalien, is a dazzling animated visualisation which starts upon the statement: “If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is: elephant.”
Psychedelic and definitely in the experimental realm as well, the creative visuals to go with the wonderfully weird track feels like a shock to the system. If you were expecting something completely different, then this just blows that completely out of the water.
It’s like a dark scene of Fantasia and we’re completely in love with it.
In parts euphoric and grabbing listeners on a dream-like adventure, the avant-garde masterpiece needs to be heard, watched and shouted from every rooftop to friends and family (with social distancing in place, of course). With using different characters to explain their narratives, the creativity in this pairing is mind-blowing.

The release was mixed by Alan Moulder (Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Foals) and mastered by France’s leading engineer Chab (Daft Punk, Christine & the Queens). Set to rocket the duo straight to the stars, this is the duo you need in your life.
