Mysterious Swiss producer Scalatrax drops his intriguing debut outing ‘Circles’. Cutting his teeth as the drummer of outfit Audio Dope, the solo project by Florian Haas-Schneider is a truly adventurous endeavour.

Whilst percussion may be the craft of choice for Hass-Schneider, with ‘Circles’ he challenged himself to create moving soundscapes with the omission of any classical beat-driven instrumentation. Creating such beats by “smashing glasses, eating crisps, carrots, hitting books, compost bucket, suitcases, throwing nails and many other household items”, it is perhaps a miraculous feat that the track came out sounding so cohesive.

Accompanied by synths, acoustic piano and brass samples, ‘Circles’ also features vocal turns by Ryler Smith and Niko Seibold.

‘Circles’ is available now via Radicalis.
