Having formed during lockdown over FaceTime, UK indie upstarts Sleeping Together have begun to establish their exciting sound on their debut release ‘Summer Girl’, The track is out on August 27th (you can PRESAVE HERE) and is a fun, upbeat ode to a whirlwind summer romance.

Musically, the track has a melodic sound that sits somewhere between indie rock and indie pop, blessed with an infectious sense of charm and guile, but with enough of a cutting edge to provide it with a sense of bite. There is a real anthemic sense of fun to the track, with themes like girls, heartbreak, toxic masculinity and nights out interloping with catchy riffs and a laid-back sense of fun. With just one track to their name, Sleeping Together have put their own unique stamp on the current UK indie scene, and it will be interesting to see how they continue to develop their sound.

Frontman Alexander says “Summer Girl was inspired by a short and sweet summer romance. At the end of summer, the couple agreed to go their separate ways. Like the romance, Summer Girl is short, bright and sweet, capturing the highs of a British summer in its emphatic chorus. However, much like the British summer, this romance was rained off too soon. These fleeting glimpses of a love, destined for rapidly approaching heartbreak, are conveyed perfectly through Summer Girl’s climbing vocals.”
