The wonderfully named The Great Emu War Casualties are an act that almost leave you wondering if their music is intentionally captivating or just something that they accidentally stumbled upon while doing whatever they felt like at the time.
Either way, latest single ‘Dead Ibis Burger’ is majestically catchy single that wins you over immediately with its charming guitar hooks and intrinsic sense of style. The track feels like it captures the infectiousness of acts like Bloc Party and Two Door Cinema Club and then takes the sound in a left turn off a cliff, mutating into something that feels much more grand and intricate. The result is a track that grows and evolves as it progresses, this is exciting indie rock that you can’t look away from.
