DIY pop duo Cherryade have released their new Sinking Ship EP along with new track ‘I Love Me’.
The EP is much more fun-focused lyrically, a change from their usual political lyrics “We didn’t want to focus too much on the shit storm we’re all in at the moment… both in terms of politics and the coronavirus. These are pop songs about feeling confident in the face of everything going on” says Ella.
Of new single ‘I Love Me’, Alex adds “It’s hard to go a day without being bombarded with scary, depressing news, or reading constant headlines about people being attacked for their race, sexuality or gender identity. That really weighs on me a lot, so we wrote this about believing in yourself whether you’re ‘different’ or just plain scared with what’s going on – hopefully it’ll help someone else keep their head up as well.”
it’s OUT!! our new lil ep baby ‘sinking ship’ has been born. go stream it below on repeat. it’s actually upbeat & happy for once so you can dance around naked whilst on lockdown. ENJOY! wash ur hands. ok thanks xoxo https://t.co/TJ0PD9anay
