Jamie Scott steps away from songwriting for others with ‘Friendly Fire’

Lead, debut single 'Friendly Fire' is upbeat with an emotive undertone that could break your heart.

This guy’s worked with some impressive names…

We literally love to see it when songwriters who’ve had such success working with some of the biggest names in the industry come forward with their own solo releases.

Jamie Scott has written with the likes of Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Justin Bieber and Rag’N’Bone Man to name a few. As 2019 came to a close, after 10 years in the studio having written for other people, Jamie decided it was time for him to focus on his own career.

The result is a whole albums worth of music complete in just 5 weeks, that just so happens to be the most personal collection of songs that Jamie’s released to date.

Lead, debut single ‘Friendly Fire’ is upbeat with an emotive undertone that could break your heart. Lyrically takng us through the motions of a difficult relationship, whereby people who were once in love are now essentially at war. The overall product is completely anthemic and terribly powerful.

Speaking on the track, Jamie explains: “Friendly Fire is a song about the inevitable break in a relationship that went wrong a long time ago, but which was played out because no-one was strong enough to end it, and in the process, both hurt the only person they never wanted to. Sonically Friendly Fire was the first track produced for the record and set the tone.”

The track is the first in a series of singles that will take us straight up to the release of his album in September.
