The latest of which is ‘The Driver’, an introspective track about the journey that the artist has, and whether she ultimately has any control over what happens and where it goes. From its thoughtful instrumentation to the thoughtful and contemplative lyrics, there is a truly captivating aura that surrounds the sound. The track builds and builds to a cathartic and climatic ending that feels invigorating and full of life and emotion. Kyns wrote the track when battling with chronic illness and in a dark place, and ‘The Driver’ feels like an emphatic push back against any kind of setbacks and hurdles that she has had to face, and seems to represent a real sense of fight and defiance.
