The artist is back following a two year break from releasing music.
Liverpool-based Meg Shaw emerged in 2020, releasing her two initial releases ‘The Escape’ and ‘What You Deserve’ to relative acclaim and popularity before deciding to take some time away to refine her sound and songwriting. Now, two years later, the artist has returned with her third single ‘Run’, a gorgeously poised release that provides a really great showcase of her talents.
The track has a dreamy, laid-back feel to it, accented with flavours of genres like R&B, pop, jazz and folk, to create something that feels distinctively her own while having a really sweet, accessible feel to it. There is an real sense of honesty and personality that permeates the writing, and the artist’s time away really has provided her with space to find herself and hone in on what makes her a distinctive and captivating talent. ‘Run’ is a step in a very encouraging direction for Meg Shaw, and we can’t wait to see where else she goes with her sound.
