KIWANUKA beat 11 other nominations for the award
The brilliant Michael Kiwanuka has won the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Music Prize with his album KIWANUKA.
Winning the trophy and £25,000 prize money at last nights award ceremony, saying “this is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do”.
Nominees for this year also included Sports Team, Georgia, Charli XCX, Porridge Radio, Dua Lipa, Stormzy, Anna Meredith, Kano, Lanterns On The Lake, Laura Marling and Moses Boyd.
