Philip Brooks perfects bedroom pop on ‘im getting lonely’

Mourning an anticipated summer that never happened (sound familiar?) 'im getting lonely' is a lo-fi indie pop track with real sad boi energy.

We’re getting lonely too.

London-based bedroom pop crooner, Philip Brooks,  has dropped a song that we very much resonate with.

Mourning an anticipated summer that never happened (sound familiar?) ‘im getting lonely’ is a lo-fi indie pop track with real sad boi energy.

Lyrically, Phillip sings about not being good enough for the person he dreamed himself into being with. After building up a whole summers worth of false hopes, he finds himself staying in bed during the nicest time of the year.

The chorus is where this one really comes into life, with nods to the likes of Fleetwood Mac and more, whilst the spoken word bridge would be more suited to the likes of Wolf Alice, this has the potential to become a firm favourite.

Speaking on the track Philip explains that he, “wrote this song feeling upset about missing out on good times and feeling lonely, and now it seems like everyone is feeling that way since we’re all stuck inside.”

This marks the first release of 2020 from Philip, following the success of his debut EP Half Alive In A Dream that came out back in November 2019.
