Following in the wake of his breakthrough debut EP Infused Romance, Ruben Pol makes a welcome return with his new single ‘Painting Mirrors’.
Not that there’s been much time set to waste, with his recent collection only being released in 2019. Hot on the heels of his previous work, ‘Painting Mirrors’ continues his exploration of synth-infused chamber pop. Underpinned by an 80s-inflected beat and offset with reverb glazed guitar work, Pol’s soothing, smooth-toned vocal is captivating.
“Love can be blinding and it can make you do crazy, sometimes reckless things,” shares Pol of his new single and his experience of being consumed by romance. “I myself am guilty of this too. The urge to be with someone can be so strong it damages the very thing that you are chasing, love itself.”
